NRRC Lovebirds Place 3rd in the Nation
We are excited to announce that The New Rochelle Racquet Club’s Team The Lovebirds placed 3rd in the USTA Nationals Competition in Scottsdale, AZ on October 8-10th.
This is a huge accomplishment and we couldn’t be more proud of the team, the coaches, and all the hard work they put in throughout the season to train and compete.
Teams are grouped by age, skill level and their geographic location in the United States. The Lovebirds competed in the USTA Eastern Division.
Teams work their way through the ranks competing on the regional, sectional, and national levels. There are over 450 teams that compete throughout the country and the competition was very intense this year.
Women on the team participate in NRRC’s USTA Team Practice Programs, which serves as an outlet to not only participate in tennis and stay active, but provide a pathway for opportunities such as competing on the regional, section, and national stage.
The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for tennis in the United States. A not-for-profit organization with more than 700,000 members, it invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grassroots to the professional levels.
